Root zone database – all domain names worldwide
The global management of domain names is coordinated by IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority), which maintains the official root zone database. This database lists all top-level domain (TLD) extensions, such as .it, .com, .org, .net and all country-code and generic TLDs recognized at international level.
Consulting the root zone database makes it possible to verify which domain extensions are officially active, which registry manages them and which policies apply to their registration. It is a key technical reference for professionals working with domain names, DNS infrastructure and web projects.
For domain name consulting and management activities, we rely exclusively on information from official sources such as IANA and accredited registries, in order to ensure data reliability and correct classification of TLD extensions.
